    I offer focused, professional genealogy research designed to answer specific questions, break through research roadblocks, and provide clarity when records conflict.

My pricing is a flat research fee of $250, covering up to 3 hours of professional genealogy research.

Important Note About Research Outcomes

   Genealogical research is highly variable. Each family leaves behind a different record trail influenced by time period, location, record loss, and accessibility. Some questions can be resolved quickly, while others require deeper investigation.

For this reason, research sessions are billed as a flat block of time rather than guaranteed outcomes. While results cannot be guaranteed, every session includes professional analysis, documentation, and clear direction for future research.

Genealogy Research Session

This research session is designed for:

  • A focused research question or resolving a research roadblock (“brick wall”)

  • Verifying or building a family tree

  • Evaluating conflicting or contradictory information

  • Confirming or disproving a research theory

  • Unknown parentage & DNA-related research

 

If your project doesn’t clearly fit into these areas, feel free to reach out to discuss whether this session is a good fit.

 

What’s Included:

  • Targeted genealogy research based on your specific research question

  • Analysis and correlation of available records

  • Source citations (professional standard)

  • A written research summary outlining:

    • What was searched

    • What was found (or not found)

    • Context surrounding the records

    • Suggested next steps, when applicable

Record Lookups & On-Site Research Travel

Not all records are available online. On-site research can provide access to local repositories, unindexed materials, and critical local context that may not exist digitally.

If you’d like me to conduct research on location:

  • Contact me to discuss availability

  • Travel and research costs will be estimated and approved in advance

Additional Research Time

If further research is recommended after the initial session:

  • $45 per additional hour

  • Billed in 1-hour increments

  • Continued only with client approval

  • No automatic charges or surprise extensions
