My Story

Every name has a story. Every stone holds a memory.
I created Roots and Resting Places to honor both.

I’ve had a quiet fascination with cemeteries for as

long as I can remember. There’s a peaceful reverence

in those spaces. Rows of names and dates waiting to

be seen, remembered, and reconnected with the living.

But my passion for genealogy has a more vivid beginning.

When I was about sixteen, a package arrived from my paternal grandmother. Inside was something that changed everything: a copy of her Mayflower Society certificate, that identified our family line was proven back to passengers Stephen Hopkins and his daughter Constance. Also with this was a hand-drawn tree that connected my mothers side back 3 generations. A side of my family I had never known. That spark ignited a journey that’s lasted over two and a half decades.

Since then, I’ve uncovered long-forgotten branches of my family, branches I never knew existed, expanded on research begun by my paternal grandmother, and grown into a seasoned researcher with a deep appreciation for the stories behind the names. Today, I’m pursuing certification through the Board for Certification of Genealogists, a natural next step as I turn my lifelong passion into a professional mission.

Through Roots and Resting Places, I help others uncover their own histories. Whether through detailed genealogical research, respectful cemetery visits, or preserving local stories through social media, I believe every legacy deserves light.

Let me bring yours into the light, too.
